Details on what to wear, how to book and general terms and conditions for our junior and kids aerial classes:
Booking: Sessions are strictly limited numbers to allow great ratio of teacher to student. Your child is welcome to attend classes and pay as they go, or to pay for a block of 6 lessons for £30.
Classes are booked no more than 7 days in advance and can be done one of three ways:
1 – Email us at email@example.com with your childs name, age and which day/time class.
2 – Call us on 01619715314 if we are unavailable please leave us a voice message
3 – Book in person at the studio when your child comes to class, for the following week.
If your child is unable to attend a class he/she has booked please email us firstname.lastname@example.org. With 24 hours notice you will not be charged. With 24 hours notice we will charge you for the place.
If we do not have space available in the class when booking we will add your child to a reserve list and if we receive a cancellation we will let you know we have a space.
Costs & Prices: Classes run consecutively in terms of 6 weeks, similar to our adults classes. During the 6 week terms, children will learn moves, transitions and routines. If you would like to purchase our 6 week passes at £30, this will mean you will not need to book your child in each week, they will automatically have a place in classes. The sessions roll consecutively and missed sessions will be lost.
During the session: We appreciate it is only an hour and you enjoy watching your child in class, however the children respond better to teachers when they are left without parents. Please can you refrain from staying for the whole class to watch. You are welcome to collect 15 mins from the end of class to watch/take pictures of what your child has been learning.
Arriving: Please can you ensure you arrive 10 mins before class starts so your child can start with the other children for warm up and general class introductions. If your child is new to our classes you will be asked to complete a new starter form, therefore please arrive with enough time to find us and fill out our health and safety form.
What to wear: Aerial work can be tough on hands, feet, ankles, backs of knees and hips. We recommend protecting these areas by wearing tight fitting clothes which will not get caught in the equipment. Leotards, swim suits under leggings are ideal, as are T-shirts and leggings. We ask that your child brings a hoodie or long sleeved top incase moves which use arms are taught. We also ask that you do not send your children with bare legs or waists. Doubling up layers on legs, such as two pairs of leggings can be useful to cushion the feeling of the hoops and silks on the body. Over time it is something we get used to, and most children do not worry about this feeling half as much as we do, however, it can affect some more than others, therefore we offer this advice to help you support your childs experience in learning aerial arts.
We work in bare feet for warm ups and hair must be tied back and off the face to avoid it getting caught in the equipment. No jewellery is allowed at all for health and safety reasons.
Levels/Abilities: Our classes are split into ages. Youngest classes are 5-8 year olds. We have a separate class for 8 – 11 year olds. Children over the age of 11 are invited to join our junior class on wednesdays at 5pm.
Syllabus. At our classes children learn our foundation aerial hoop and silks moves. Once they have learnt our foundation routines and moves, and completed level 1 of our syllabus, they are recommended to work on our harder level of moves and complex tricks & routines.
